Teens have more pressure and face more challenges in today's world than perhaps at any time. Parents, often both working, providing for the family and trying to be present for the children as well, find themselves pulled in all directions. Facing a changing world, and a changing body and mind, is a huge challenge, even among the best of families.
Helen brings real world experience as a parent and as a therapist to working with teens and the issues they face, be it peer pressure, isolation, loneliness, substance abuse, sexuality issues, academic and career goals, or self-inflicted harm (cutting, etc).
Teens must grow up fast, yet still somehow find the answers to "Who am I?" and "What kind of a person do I want to be?"
Ms. Hill finds it an honour and a privilege to work with young people as they discover themselves to bring about growth and healing and well-adjusted, balanced lives. Helen uses object relations, narrative therapy, and cognitive-behavior therapy in working with young people. |
